Water Storage Capacity Improved by Pond Restoration Activities
With the support of CII we restored the SR Kandigai Pond and created a water storage capacity of 9.7 million litres.
As part of the restoration activities we facilitated bund strengthening and revetment, construction of water channels for water inflow and outflow and construction of fencing and steps to improve security and access to the pond.
The restoration activities went on for a period of eight months and was completed in the month of September, 2024.
The communities around the pond are now able to access safe water daily household consumption and irrigation purposes.
