Bala Vikasa’s women coordinators raise funds of INR Rs 7 Lakhs to help over 400 old and destitute people
In a heart-warming act, the women coordinators of our Women Integrated Development program raised about Rs 7 lakhs from their respective villages through local donors to help the old and destitute people. With the funds raised about 450 old and destitute people of 14 centers were provided with clothes, groceries and toiletries, walking sticks and other necessities.
Apart from raising funds, the women coordinators also donated a part of their earnings to provide 30kgs of rice to each of the beneficiaries. Primary medical tests were conducted for the beneficiaries of Wardhannapet and they were provided with vitamin tablets and other prescribed medicines as per the beneficiaries’ requirement.
“It gives me great pleasure to be able to help the old and destitute in whichever I can. Neglected by family, many of them feel lonely and helpless in their last days and this is the time they need us the most. Whatever we do for them is greatly appreciated by them and all these essentials will only make their life easier,” said Rama, women coordinator.
