Rural Poor women come together to provide for poor orphaned citizens
Bala Vikasa’s Women Integrated Development program beneficiaries from across 14 village centres raised funds to provide daily essentials to orphaned poor senior citizens. A total of Rs 12 Lakhs was collected from local donors in the villages. The funds raised were used to provide clothes, groceries and toiletries, and other daily essentials to about 500 rural poor orphaned senior citizens.
Apart from raising funds from local donors, our women coordinators donated a part of their earnings to provide a hearty meal for the beneficiaries on the day of distribution. The event was collectively organised in partnership with Jana Vikasa.
