Organic Farmers increase profit by 25% through organic mela
Our organic farmers were delighted to have increased their profits by 25% at the organic mela organized to provide them with market linkages and sell farm-fresh produce to the consumers on June 1, 2021. About 60 small and marginalized organic farmers participated in the organic mela and sold nearly 670 quintals of organic rice and paddy.
“I’ve been practicing organic farming with the support of Bala Vikasa for the past four years. The shift from chemical farming to organic farming was a difficult process but what bothered me the most was I was getting the same price as chemical farmers. This mela helped us connect with the consumers directly and get more profits for the hard work I have put in for producing chemical-free products,” said Raji Reddy, Keshavapuram village.
