Bala Vikasa Executive Director deliverd a webinar on ‘Training the Community in Operation and Management of Water ATMs,’ as part of Clean Water Talks webinar series
Shoury Reddy Singareddy, Executive Director, Bala Vikasa delivered a webinar on 'Training the Community in Operation and Management of Water ATMs,' as part of the Clean Water Talks Webinar Series organized by Safe Water Enterprise (SWE) Alliance, under Project SEWAH (Sustainable Enterprises for Water and Health), a collaboration between Safe Water Network India and USAID.
Around 60 participants working in the water sector have participated in the zoom meeting including the CEO of Safe Water Network, Kurt Soderlund. During the session, Shoury Reddy focused on the key methodology and techniques for community involvement followed by Bala Vikasa for effective operation and management of Community Water Purification Plants (ATWs).
The Clean Water Talks Webinar Series was launched to present leading SWE implementer efforts to solve challenges to sustainably providing safe and affordable water to underserved communities.
Delivering the session, Shoury Reddy said the key for the successful implementation of any community program is to involve the community and ensure that they are fully capable of implementing the program by themselves. “In our programs, we enhance the knowledge of the community wherever required through training sessions making them capable of maintaining and monitoring the community water plant,” he added.
