US Consulate Supported Workshop on Comparison of American and Indian Constitutions Inspires 150 Youth from 3 States
Students enthusiastically interacted during a grand 2-Day workshop on “Comparing American and Indian Constitutions” conducted to increase awareness in marginalized youth on the shared tradition of constitutional democracy between India and the United States.
Dr Joe Christopher, Asst Cultural Affairs Officer, US Consulate Hyderabad, Mr Rahul Bhardwaj - Head, Bala Vikasa CSRB, Mr Pragnan Kumar, Director of Swanthana Seva Samithi Visakhapatnam, Mrs Annie, and Mr Narva Prakash Rao, graced the event held at MSFS Dhyan Ashram, White House, in Visakhapatnam, last October.
More than 70 students from various colleges across Andhra Pradesh participated in the training, which was conducted by Ms Manjula Program Officer, Bala VIkasa, Prof D Surya Prakash, Chairman and Faculty of Law, Dr B R Ambedkar Law University, and Dr Nandini, D Sanjeevaiah National Law University.
The workshop concluded with certificate distribution to the students by Mr David Moyer, Public Affairs Officer, US Consulate Hyderabad, Dr M Hari Krishna, Special Officer, AP CMO, Mr Raju, VC, Centurion University, and Dr PVGD Prasad Reddy, VC, Andhra University.
Dr M Hari Krishna, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office, says: “This workshop encourages civic activism and participation. The US and India are among the greatest democracies in the world. Our constitutions share values of liberty and inclusiveness.”
