With 33-year legacy of pioneering high-impact innovative multi-sectoral community-led sustainable development interventions in rural India, Bala Vikasa, an ISO-certified nonprofit in India, is silently but tenaciously striving for an equitable society. We’re founded by India-born Bala Theresa Singareddy and her husband Andre Gingras. Our proven interventions in Quality Education, Safe Water, Hygiene and Sanitation, Water Conservation, Sustainable Agriculture, Women Empowerment, and Widow Emancipation have impacted over 8 Million poor in 7,000 villages across 7 states, and have inspired several central and state government programs, including Telangana’s Mission Kakatiya and the National Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. We have transformed millions of rural people into effective agents of change. We have built lasting relationships not only with these communities but also with 40+ CSR partners and 300 nonprofits over time, gaining immense respect as thought-leaders in the development sector.

As a valuable knowledge hub, we are amplifying social change by strengthening the global development practice through training programs and advisory for global nonprofits, civil society organizations, academia, and CSR practitioners through the People Development Training Center. With over 500 training-cum-exposure programs, we have strengthened the capacities of 20,000+ professionals and students from 81 countries in a variety of sectoral subjects and trends. We are also forging symbiotic alliances between businesses and civil society to achieve the highest social impact through Bala Vikasa Center for Social and Responsible Business. As a center of excellence promoting social entrepreneurship and responsible business, we have incubated 30 innovative social start-ups, mentored 125 rural entrepreneurs, and formed 30+ symbiotic collaborations to innovate sustainable development models.Our campus facilities - the People Development and Training Center in Warangal and Bala Vikasa Center for Social and Responsible Business in Hyderabad - have proven to be the perfect setting for knowledge-exchange and nurturing of innovative ideas to solve social problems.
