Rural Poor Orphans Receive Financial and Material Assistance Worth Rs 23+ Lakhs
With the support of SOPAR and many generous individual donors we provided financial assistance of Rs 17,000 to Rs 19,000 to 102 college-going Vikasa Young Adults (rural poor orphans). An additional scholarship of Rs 10,000 was given to meritorious students who secured over 85% marks in their academics. The financial support was provided during the Annual Vikasa Children’s Meeting 2024 to help students pursue higher education encouraging them to live an independent and decent life.
Similarly, as part of the annual activities of our Orphan Solidarity program, School Preparatory Day was organised to prepare the children to return to school after the summer break. During the meeting, stationery items, toiletries, school bags, and other items worth Rs 2000 were distributed to 180 students. The items were provided to support the educational needs of the students for the academic year.
During the Annual Vikasa Children’s Meet, many donors interacted with the children and encouraged them to work hard to achieve their dream despite the various challenges they would face in their lives. The donors assured their continued support to all the children to ensure that each student would complete their education and live an independent life.
