Financial Aid Provided to Poor Widows of Rural Telangana
77 poor young widows and their children (173) were supported with financial and material assistance to help them live an independent and decent life. The widows were given financial aid of Rs 10,000 each and the children were provided with Rs 1000 each. A total of Rs 9,43,000 funds were distributed to the widows and children.
They were also provided with groceries kits worth Rs 2000 supporting them to meet their daily needs. During the distribution program, the widows and their children were given training on how to deal with the challenges, stress and the discrimination they face in their daily lives.
The financial and material assistance were provided with the support of SOPAR and many generous individuals to support widows to find livelihood opportunities, meet their needs and provide for themselves and their families.
