Bala Vikasa Conducts Health Camp in Over 100 Villages
To create awareness on preventive measures for better health and ensure that communities, especially poor senior citizens receive timely diagnosis and treatment for their health issues, we conducted a health camp and awareness program in 103 villages of 7 districts in Telangana.
During the camp, medicines worth Rs 15,45,000 were distributed and over 15000 patients were treated. A team of 653 health professionals facilitated the health camps in various villages.
Awareness programs were also held on cancer, kidney related issues and other chronic diseases among the communities, especially women. The women were encouraged to constantly monitor their health for cervical or breast cancer, take necessary precautions to prevent chronic disease and follow a healthy lifestyle with a balanced and nutritious diet.
“I am an orphaned senior citizen and I can’t take care of myself most of the time. I am glad that these doctors checked my health. They also gave me some medicines for BP and my body pains. All thanks to Bala Vikasa and also the doctors for this initiative.”
