Fostering Community Driven Sustainable Development

Bala Vikasa puts into practice its motto “helping people to help themselves”, which effectively ensures the sustainability of individual and community development initiatives.  As Bala Vikasa is primarily a community development organization, it follows an Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, using Appreciative inquiry (AI). Neuro Linguistic Programming ( NLP), Participatory Rural Approach(PRA ), and other methods, in motivating communities and mobilizing local resources, essential for ensuring peoples participation, contributions and ownership of the programs.  All development initiatives are people centric. Series of capacity building programs for community members at various levels, help create a positive mindset and a change in attitudes, besides enhancing the community’s capacity to plan, implement, monitor and manage their own projects.

With the experience and expertise gained in working with the communities over the past couple of decades, Bala Vikasa is initiating innovative peoples programs and establishing unique community development models.
