Promoting Green Environment

5,00,000 saplings planted in over 500 villages

Plantation has been an annual activity of Bala Vikasa during every monsoon, since a decade. Every year thousands of farmers, women groups, school children, youth groups etc. are mobilized and motivated by Bala Vikasa on the importance of protecting and promoting the environment through mass tree plantation. The community members not only participate actively at the time of plantation but also provide proper aftercare in conserving saplings helping the trees to grow.

The community members have voluntarily contributed donations towards installing more than 5,000 tree guards in different villages for protecting the plants on sides of the streets and other public areas.

Bala Vikasa has either raised own nursery or procured plants from commercial nursery. Various types of fruit, timber and shade giving plants which are of interest to the community and suitable to the local soil types were planted.
