Motivation, Organizing and Capacity Building Activities
Organizing Committees and their Responsibility: After sufficient motivation is created in the village through series of meetings, a committee of 5-7 members is organized from the beneficiaries for each project. The members of the committee will be actively involved in the project planning, implementation and monitoring as well as supporting Bala Vikasa in its action. The following are the responsibilities of the committees:
- Organize and coordinate the villagers
Procurement of sufficient tractors to implement the work day and night- Distribution of equal trips to the farmers without any discrimination of caste, class, religion, political etc.
- Cooperate Bala Vikasa in implementing the program • Monitor the implementation and support the temporary staff hired for the project
Training Program : Training programs are conducted to the temporary staff and to the committee members to ensure effective planning, implementation and monitoring of the program. Therefore, Bala Vikasa conducts series of training programs at its People Development Training Center before and while implementing the program.
Songs: Bala Vikasa prepared a cassette/CD with motivational songs on the need for water conservation, environment, desiltation etc. These songs are played in the village while motivating and implementing the program. The tractors drivers play the songs while working in the project. This makes maximum number of people to listen to the songs and get motivated for active participation.
Posters: To motivate the villagers, Bala Vikasa have conceptualised, prepared and got printed a multi colour poster of 24”*36” size with photos and motivating captions. These posters will be pasted in the streets of the villages to create awareness on the project. Looking at the posters in different villages, the farmers from neighbouring villages approach Bala Vikasa to support them to implement the program in their villages.
Captions on the Walls : Raithu Vikasa Sangam selected different slogans on water, de-siltation, plantation, unity, leadership, environment etc. These captions will be written on the compound walls of the houses in the streets of the project villages. Since the letters are written in big size they are visible to all people passing on the road and each time they pass they happen to read and the message goes easily into their minds and makes them to think about it. The caption on the walls will last at least for two to three years and they will constantly remind the message to the villagers.
Hats : The program is implemented during the hot summer. Therefore, to protect tractor driver, supervisors, machine operators and committee members from the hot sun, Bala Vikasa designed and got the special hats done and distributes to the drivers, committee members and supervisors. This gave even more publicity and awareness in the public.
Media Encouragement : Generally the publicity for NGOs program is given less by the press compared to the government programs. But this program has won the attention of print and 
electronic media for its popular demand in the people, relevance of the program with assured, instant, multiple and lasting benefits. Therefore, almost every project inauguration and progress was published by different media to motivate the general public on the importance of the program and encourage others to take part.
