Bore well as a birthday gift

Ms. Angelle Bourassa thought of a unique gift for her boyfriend’s birthday on November 9th. Angelle who hails from Gatineau, Canada, is currently attending a month long training in ‘Community driven Development’ at Bala Vikasa PDTC, Warangal, India. She witnessed the suffering of people with lack of access to water. She felt that quenching the thirst and making water accessible to about 50 families in Chandhravadhan slum in Warangal town in Andhra Pradesh, India, was an ideal gift that Angelle could think of for her boyfriend Charles Blouin. The bore well costing about $700 (Rs.35,000) was inaugurated on 21st November 2011, amidst the joyful celebration of children and elders of Chandhravadhan colony.
