  Bala Vikasa believes that education is the key to empowerment. Since a largesection of children in the rural areas remain uneducated due to poverty, illiteracy and ignorance, Bala Vikasa has reached out to the most vulnerable and needy children in the rural villages, who have become child laborers due to poverty. The worst affected among them are the orphans, semi orphans and children from very poor families. Apart from these efforts Bala Vikasa has also taken initiative to improve infrastructure, water andsanitation facilities at governmentrunruralschools. Most of the poor childrenstudyin government-runschools.And manychildren end up as school drop-outs due to poor teaching standards, lack of infrastructure, water and sanitation facilities. Bala Vikasa is working on improving the school environment and other infrastructure, water and sanitation facilities inorder to reduce school drop-out rate in government-run schools.
