Water purification is essential to the communities in the target region since millions of people are suffering from dental and skeletal fluorosis due to excess fluoride in ground water sources, and are also affected by water born diseases due the contamination of water in the public sources. The poor who are not able to purchase water from commercial companies are frequently falling sick, spending significant amounts on medical bills and also losing their daily wages due to illness.
